Letter: Others welcome what St. Augustine bans

Letter: Others welcome what St. Augustine bans

Editor: Seems our St. Augustine City Commissioners want to ban everything, parking, beggars, artists, musicians, etc. I suggest they go to New Orleans, Albuquerque, Washington D.C. In each city, they will find all the things that they want to ban from St. Augustine.

They need to learn from the trip and try to accommodate all things that make the United States what it is, free. That is a place where people are free to do what they want as long as it does not hurt others.

If someone does not like artist or their paintings, then move on and don't look at them.

In Jackson Square in New Orleans, they accommodate all of the things our commissioners want to ban.

Visitors are happy to purchase paintings. I have a painting of the Bridge of Lions painted by one of our local artist now banned from downtown.

Our commissioners should get their heads out of the sand and worry about the pot holes and raccoons in town and let artists show their talents, and maybe sell a painting or two.
