It's our money. One of my opponents wrote, "Can it be done in a more costly manner?" -- revealing October 2026 Facebook post by by one of my opponents for Anastasia Mosquito Control District of Seat Johns County, seat 2, on Facebook

"Can it be done in a more costly manner?" -- Freudian slip (or Floridian slip) by one of my three opponents running for Anastasia Mosquito Control District of St. Johns County, seat 2.

I would be honored to have your vote for Commissioner of the Anastasia Mosquito Control District of St. Johns County, seat 2, on or before November 3, 2026.

Lived in St. Johns County since November 5, 1999.

My Father was bitten by a mosquito in Sicily in 1943 as an 82nd ABN DIV. paratrooper, suffering malaria -- my Mother said that I was a "miracle baby" because the chances of my being born were less than. one in 100,000 due to the effects of malaria on human reproduction. My parents prayed to St. Jude for twelve years: the patron Saint of Hopeless causes inspired them and inspires us all.

Let me be your voice of reason against SJC corruption, mediocrity and mendacity.

I'm Ed Slavin. I take no PAC contributions. I have not received any income from the Mosquito Museum. One of my opponents can't make the same statement.

We, the People never give up. We helped stop illegal purchase of a no-bid $1.8 million helicopter without competitive bidding, helping persuade Mosquito Control Commissioners to cancel the contract and win a full refund of our 10% deposit.

I support use of natural pesticides and reported illegal organophosphate spraying of a Bald Eagle's nest to criminal investigators with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for violations of federal laws protecting migratory birds and bald and golden eagles.

I speak out against waste, fraud, abuse, misfeasance, malfeasance, nonfeasance, flummery, dupery and nincompoopery.

SANDRA FEIN responded on Facebook:

Good morning Ed
It was clearly a typo on my part. The statement should read “Can it be done in a less costly manner?” Thank you for catching my typo so that I can clarify my true stance.

  • A "typo" would be a misspelled word. A Freudian slip, or Floridian slip, reveals your true beliefs, working for AMCD and calling yourself its "Ambassador" for its Mosquito Museum. I like the Museum but we paid too much. After 20 years, AMCD remains wasteful. Our Founders disdained what they called "factions." I have stood up for the public interest since 1978.
