IN HAEC VERBA: St. Augustine Tea Party Says It Can't Win at "Communist" City Commission -- "This is the world of Ed Slavin, Ron Rawls and the like."

Redbaiting lives in St. Augustine.  Amused upon reading the backhanded praise from the unenlightened energumen who wrote on local extremists' website:

I don’t like to get in situations where I can’t win. The Communist influence on the City Commission is complete. The Southern Poverty Law Center prevails there. This is the world of Ed Slavin, Ron Rawls and the like.

The St. Augustine Tea Party holds Annual MeetingElection of Officers Main Order of Business
Members of the St. Augustine Tea Party conducted their annual meeting on July 10, 2018. The main order of business was the election of Officers. Lance Thate, Chairman, David Heimbold, Treasurer and Joyce Ferrigno, Secretary, were reelected for an additional one year term.
The Chairman’s report contained details about the Independence Day celebration, by the Tea Party, at the Castillo de San Marcos. Included in the report was information about the Communist attack on the Dartmouth while the 38 foot replica was at the Fourth of July festivities in St. Augustine, Florida. [See www.staugtea.com for the complete story Ed.]
The St. Augustine Tea Party has, since August 2017, been concerned with and involved in stopping the Progressive Communist attacks on American history. The focus of these attacks has been on historical symbols and, in particular, Confederate symbols. Therefore, the Chairman also shared his views and experience with the City of St. Augustine Commissioner’s regular meeting the night before.

Addressing the group Chairman Thate said:
“It was the first time that I have ever attended a City Commission meeting in these long nine years of resistance. Picking my battles, I always perceived that this bastion of Progressive Communism was too deep to penetrate. Lunelle McCallister was planning to travel from the Tampa area to attend this meeting. Lunelle is with the Saving Southern Heritage Florida group. Last week I had a conversation with her, and I committed to go to the meeting. If she and her husband could make the trip from Tampa to support our issues, it seems only fair that I could travel a few miles to be in attendance.
I don’t like to get in situations where I can’t win. The Communist influence on the City Commission is complete. The Southern Poverty Law Center prevails there. This is the world of Ed Slavin, Ron Rawls and the like.
I can report that there were many people supporting our cause. In the general public comment, I addressed the shameful behavior of the Police on May 19. I held the Board, not Chief Fox, responsible for the lawlessness. I also made public comment in the Contextualization agenda item. The contextualization committee report was approved by a 4 to 1 vote. Mayor Shaver was the only dissenting vote. She is running for reelection and the popular sentiment was not with the elitists that run City Hall.”
