Governor RON DeSANTIS's very first veto in 2019 was of HB 771, an unconstitutional bill passed by our legislature and sponsored by our nasty, conflicted corrupt local developer-Senator TRAVIS HUTSON, which would have erased local governments' home rule where plastic straw bans are concerned.
Senator HUTSON's latest legislative turkey, SB 1078, would erase our freedom of choice to elect citizens to Soil and Water Conservation Disricts. Governor DeSANTIS should veto this bill, too.
Read the perceptive column by Chair Nicole Crosby of our St. Johns County Soil and Water Conservation District board from Florida Politics:
Nicole Crosby: No unconstitutional restriction on Soil and Water boards; veto SB 1078. (Florida Politics)
