Request No. 2022-63: Russian oligarchs money-laundering and investments in Florida -- sanctions research and investigation

1. On March 2, 2022, I asked our Governor, State's Attorney, Sheriff, constitutional officers and local governments to share what their offices know about Russian oligarch kleptocrats' investments in St. Johns County and Florida.

2. We have a Right to Lnow.  Florida Constitution, Article I, Section 24.

3. I look forward to candid answers.

4. We, the People, and our Justice Department, will not accept "I know nothing!" (or any other implausible, shallow, specious, CYA canned denials, of the sort emitted by the oafish Nazi German prison camp guard Sgt. Schultz in the 1960s television comedy, Hogan's Heroes).

5. As James Madison wrote W.T. Barry on August 4, 1823,  "A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives."

6. We must empower our Justice Department Task Force KleptoCapture with everything our local officials know. As JFK said, "sometimes party loyalty demands too much." Tell us what you know, and tell the FBI and Justice Department.

7. Quo vobis videtor? (What do y'all reckon?)

Here's the e-mail:
