St. Johns County Commission vendor contracts will go online, County Administrator Hunter Conrad Announces

Kudos to St. Johns County Administrator Hunter Sinclair Conrad for announcing, in response to my public comment, at our March 15, 2022 Board of County Commissioners meeting, that all of our County vendor contracts will be placed online.

Credit where credit is due -- Dr. Dwight Hines, Ph.D. first suggested it, following the lead of the City of Orlando, circa 2007.

I have often raised the suggestion since.

Thanks to Mr. Conrad for following through.

Three cheers!

Dr. Hines is a retired Jacksonville University professor with expertise in psychology and computers.

Dr. Hines was introduced to me circa 2005 by our mutual friend, St. Augustine civil rights hero Wm. Stetson Kennedy, who infiltrated KKK in Atlanta and wrote about it, with one of his books published by Jean Paul Sartre in France when Mr. Kennedy fled there.

Footnote: Dr. Dwight Hines, Ph.D. and I were both threatened circa 2007 with arrest for showing up at the City of St. Augustine purchasing office and asking for the list of "blanket purchase orders." There were hundreds (and we wear their scorn as a badge of honor).  This was during the ancien régime of former City Manager WILLIAM BARRY HARRISS, who encumbered the position from 1998-2010, when he was succeeded by JOHN PATRICK REGAN, P.E. (hired, like HARRISS without a national search).
