Investigating St. Augustine Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline's Two-Week Trip to Spain

Hey, big spenders!  City of St. Augustine Mayor NANCY SIKES-KLINE, a City Commissioner since 2008, recently missed City meetings and deliberations on hiring the next City Manager.  Why?  Because Mayor NANCY SIKES-KLINE. et al. were  in Spain, for a two week City trip.

Their two week trip to Spain was not budgeted.

Foreign travel spending was halted under our beloved former reform Mayor Nancy Shaver.

Has our City's policy on foreign travel spending changed?

Says who?

Who voted to authorize this two-week junket?

How much was spent?

What was the alleged public benefit?

Mayor Nancy Shaver, City Manager John Patrick Regan, P.E., and his family paid for their own foreign trips.

I have asked the City for pertinent records.

Hey, big spenders!

Please send me those records today.

With kindest regards, I am,

Sincerely yours,
Ed Slavin

Having lived in Europe, I can't see why anyone could go over there and then come back here unless they absolutely had to or just didn't have a legal way to stay. Not a damn thing here that's nicer than over there. To come back here is a step down. I never thought of it that way until about 7 years ago. A lot of people don't see things that way because this is all they know here.

Yeah when you come back it's like a depressing cloud floats over your head... like you just stepped back into Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome... Ancient Rome 2.0😆

It would be funny if she stayed. Said, "Life's too short... not gonna waste another day of it in the USA."😂

She should ask herself how they achieved such nice things over there and why things aren't that way and can't be that way here. The answer is that they don't have such degenerate political ideology over there and thinking that shoveling every penny in existence to the rich is what freedom is all about. Also, they make more resources available for mental health and healthcare, don't spend mountains of money on the military, and people aren't segregated in cities so much along class lines... rich neighborhoods on one side of town or area and shantytowns concentrated in another area. They have real mixed use development over there. Also, labor movements exist and economy is more mixed.

Also, they don't have a criminal justice system that makes people's lives worse just about every single time anyone comes in contact with it. Makes societies problems worse while claiming to make society safer and better.
