St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach and St. Johns County are not unlike Chicago writ small. See Mike Royko's classic book, "BOSS" about Mayor Richard J. Daley, suggesting that Chicago City Hall be adorned with a suitable Latin motto, carved in marble, "UBI ES MEA?" ("Where's mine?")

UBI? Universal Basic Income? This would help people buy health insurance, afford higher rents, taxes, food, and survive piss poor wages.. you name it. And as long as they tax appropriately.. they can keep it going and prices will not necessarily rise because it's not like you are giving everyone a mountain of money. Just $1000 a month to everyone.. shouldn't even see a rise in prices. This must be done nationally to be effective. As for the government here per the article, nothing to the empty suits. Nothing going on at all which is the issue besides bas urban planning and no creativity. Piss poor wages.. people living 3 to a house and working to maintain descent living standards.
