Subject: Anti-Gay Hate Speech by St. Johns County Republican Club Leader on WFOY Radio June 13, 2016

Dear Mr. Korach:
1.  Greater St. Augustine Republican Club President MARTIN MILLER said on WFOY radio this morning that some 50 Gay people killed at Pulse nightclub in Orlando June 12, 2016 "got what they deserved."
2. This is inflammatory hate speech, not denied by WFOY radio station owner KRIS PHILLIPS, who has not responded to a request to share the tape and preserve it.
3. Nothing good can come from anti-Gay hate speech, only more deaths.
4. Greater St. Augustine Republican Club President MARTIN MILLER's anti-Gay Weltanschauung is similar to remarks that you have also made, Chairman Korach.
5. I have reported Greater St. Augustine Republican Club President MARTIN MILLER's remarks to the FBI, requesting that the FBI update its domestic terrorism files and investigate hate speech on WFOY by MILLER, et al.
6. I call upon you and every other Republican public official and party officer in St. Johns County to denounce the statement by MARTIN MILLER, Greater St. Augustine Republican Club President, and kindly support a St. Johns County human rights ordinance, following the example of the cities of St. Augustine and St. Augustine Beach, several constitutional officers and the Anastasia Mosquito Control District of St. Johns County (the first in the county to do so, circa 2008).
7. Please call me to discuss before 5 PM today.
Thank you.
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Ed Slavin

Subject: Re: Request No. 2016-255: WFOY broadcasts anti-Gay hate speech by Greater St. Augustine Republican Club Chair Martin Miller

Dear Ms. Phillips:
1. Mr. Martin Miller, President of "The Republican Club of Greater St. Augustine," is a frequent caller on WFOY radio.

2. Please preserve, and provide me with a tape recording of, Mr. Martin Miller's telephone call to the Kerry McCarthy Show this morning (June 13, 2016) re: 50 Gays murdered at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando June 12, 2016 "getting what they deserved."3. Mr. Miller calls WFOY twice per day -- every morning and every evening.
4. On a station that spends much of the day on hate, his hate calls stand out as over the top.
5. Please preserve all tapes of Mr. Miller's calls pendente lite.
6. What steps do you plan to take about anti-GLBT, anti-Semitism, anti-Mexican, anti-Muslim and anti-African-American hate speech on your station on a daily basis?
7. The ancient equitable maxim is, "silence gives consent," or in the 1980s slogan of ACT-UP: "Silence = Death."
Thank you.
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Ed Slavin

Where's the audio?

Good question.

No response from WFOY owner KRIS PHILLIPS.

It appears that WFOY, a/k/a HATE RADIO, has no tape system, no seven second delay, no news, and a 250/500 AM-FM signal that covers less than St. Johns County.

WFOY owner KRIS PHILLIPS is supported by the prior St. Augustine City Manager and prior Mayor in seeking to be elected Mayor of St. Augustine.
